684. Elmer Thurman⁶ Allgood (George Wade⁵, Charles B.⁴, Edward³, William² Algood, Edward¹ Allgood) was born in NE May 2, 1888. Elmer died August 1952 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. OBIT: Elmer T. Allgood, son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Hannah Allgood, was born on a farm about two miles southwest of Peru, May 2,1888, and passed away at a local hospital in Auburn, August 28, having reached the age of 64 years, 3 months and 26 days. Most of his life was spent in Peru. He was married to Miss Helen Neal of Peru on February 15, 1927. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Helen; four sons, Albert T., Richard E., Leonard B. and little Tommie, all of Peru; four daughters, Mrs. Clara Jackson of Phelps City, Mo., Donna L., Ruth E. and Doris Ann at home; one daughter-in-law, the wife of Albert, one son-in-law, the husband of Clara, and three grandchildren. Also four sisters, Mrs. Vada Leahy of Omaha, Mrs. Edward Rawson of Eckley, Colorado, Mrs. Everett E. Applegate of Peru, Mrs. Vina Fowler of Oskaloosa, Iowa; one brother, Charlie Allgood of Hamburg, Iowa, a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday, August 31st in the christian Church in Peru at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ward Merritt officiating. Two songs, 'Beyond the Sunset' and 'In the Garden,' were sung by Benny Duerfeldt acompanied by Mrs. Clyde Duerfeldt. Pallbearers were Walt Reeves, Arthur Reeves, Pete Patterson, Lloyd Cotton, Bill Adams and Harold Patterson. Interment was in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Peru. NEMAHA COUNTY

He married twice. He married Stella Reeves December 21, 1911 in Nemaha Co., NE. He married Helen Louise Neal February 15, 1927. Helen was born June 22, 1907 in NE. Helen died March 10, 1989 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE.
