He married Martha (Marty) Shirokey 1947 in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, LA. Martha was born Septembe 11,1922 in Clearfield Co., PA. Martha died January 12, 2015 in Brierfield, Bibb Co., AL. OBIT: Ms. Martha Allgood, age 92 of Brierfield, AL passed away peacefully on January 12, 2015 surrounded by her family and caretakers. Ms. Allgood was born in Morris Township in Clearfield County, PA. on September 11, 1922. Ms. Allgood will be remembered as a loving wife and mother. While serving in the Navy during World War II she met and married her late husband, Charles Louis Allgood who was a Navy Pilot. They were married in New Orleans, LA in 1947 where they were both stationed at the time. Her husband Charles preceded her in death in 2002 after 55 years of marriage. Ms. Allgood was a devout Christian and remained active in her church, The Holy Comforter, until her health failed. As an artist, she was well known for her decorative eggs, which were featured in the finest jewelry stores in Birmingham, AL for years. Ms. Allgood is survived by her son Dr. David Allgood(Judy), sisters, Velma Glenn, Mildred Kasukick, Theresa Shirokey; brothers, Alexander Shirokey and Nicholas Shirokey; grandchildren, Jennifer Hudson(Joey), Stephanie Newman(Haisten) and Rachel Allgood; great grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Shelby Miller, Joleigh Newman, Troy Newman, Tyler Hudson, Brylan Hudson and Emma Hudson. The Allgood family extends their deepest appreciation to Dr. Lata Patil, Bibb Medical Center, Amedisys Home Health Hospice and to the caretakers who have been so loving and caring to Ms. Allgood over the years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 1 PM at Rockco Funeral Home Centreville with burial in Pineland Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Rev. R. Bryan Smith officiating.
