Allene died July 18, 2003 in Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Mrs. Allene King Allgood, 90, of Polo Ridge Assisted Living, Winston-Salem, died Friday, July 18, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County to John William and Hattie Carter King. Mrs. Allgood was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and was a self-employed beautician. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.E. Allgood Sr. Survivors include her son, H.E. Allgood Jr. of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Jo Ann A. Neal of Winston-Salem and Mary Leigh Shell and husband, James E. of Shallotte; a sister, Annie Morse Uptergraft of Marion, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday, July 21, at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Rural Hall, with Mr. Bill Teague officiating. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
