Versie died May 1, 2015 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC. OBIT: Marie Allgood Shore, 90, of Courtney Huntsville Road passed away Friday, May 01, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 7, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late John and Lillie Groce Allgood. Mrs. Shore was retired from Western Electric and A.T.&T. Communications. She had been faithfully attending Southside Baptist Church in Yadkinville. Mrs. Shore loved her church, especially loved her family and lived her life dedicated to both. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred C. Shore; her son, Bruce G. Shore; and by numerous brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Alice Willard and husband, Steve; Grandchildren, Lonnie Gough, David Gough, Shannon (Robbie) Thomas, Gerry Shore, Michael (Alicia) Shore, Molly (Buddy) Snow; Great-grandchildren, Alesha Smith, Whisper Gough, Zachary Smith, Jonathan Gough, Jacob Smith, Garrett Shore, Dylan Shore, Addison Shore, Madelyn Shore; and by her brother, Calvin "Dib" (Laura) Allgood. The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:30 PM Monday at Southside Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:30 PM Monday at the church with Dr. Billy Seats officiating. Burial will follow the service in Turners Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

She married Fred Coolidge Shore. Fred was born November 5, 1923 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC. Fred was the son of Gwyn H. Shore and Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth Miller. Fred died May 19, 2003 in Yadkinville, Yadkin Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Fred Coolidge Shore, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, 79, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Shore was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Yadkin County to Gwyn and Sally Miller Shore. Fred was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Heritage Furniture Corp. He was a member of Turners Creek Baptist Church and never measured his accomplishments by material gain but by the love and devotion of his family and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Shore and Ruby Shore Hutchens; and two brothers, Leo Shore and Herman Shore. Surviving are his wife, Marie Allgood Shore of the home; a daughter, Alice S. Willard and husband Steve of Winston-Salem; a son, Bruce Shore and wife Mona of Dobson; six grandchildren, Lonnie and David Gough, Shannon (Craig) Smith, Michael Shore, Gerry (Sharion) Shore and Molly Shore; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lena Mae Allgood of Yadkinville; three brothers, Roy Shore and Houston Shore of Yadkinville and Jack Shore of Winston-Salem; and a dear friend and sister-in-law, Annie Allgood of Yadkinville. The funeral service for Mr. Shore will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Turners Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Bobby Russell and the Rev. David Maynard. Mr. Shore will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Shore family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, May 20, at Gentry Family Funeral Home in Yadkinville.
