He married twice. He married Nancy McLean 1882. He married Manthey C. Clark April 28, 1896 in White Co., IL. Manthey was born 1879. Manthey was the daughter of George Clark and Louisia Ward. In 1900 John was widowed and living with his two children with his mother and father.
