Larry died May 3, 2009 in Powrie, Co., IA. OBIT: Larry D. Allgood 60, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009, at his home in Gowrie.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Southeast Webster-Grand High School Gymnasium in Burnside, with the Rev. Jane Shepherd officiating. Burial will be at Gowrie Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie.
Larry Dean Allgood was born Jan. 15, 1949, in Oskaloosa. He graduated from Eddyville High School, with the Class of 1967. Following his education, Larry worked various jobs including driving a truck. On Jan. 15, 1982, he married Judy Otto in Pleasant Hill. The couple made their home in Phoenix, where they managed apartments. For the past 10 years, Larry had been custodian at Southeast Webster-Grand High School in Burnside. He was an affiliated member of the United Methodist Church in Gowrie.
Larry is survived by his wife Judy; daughters, Kim Allgood, and Billi Jo Allgood, both of Hollister, Calif.; sons, Scott (Tanya) Allgood, of Hollister, Calif., and Mike (Laurie) Otto, of Des Moines; his siblings, Rex (Marge) Allgood, of What Cheer, Bill (Betty) Allgood, of Oskaloosa, Phyllis (Harley) Yates, of Oskaloosa, Ron Allgood, of Oskaloosa, Joyce (Richard) Emanuel, of Glendale, Ark., Denny (Marlene) Allgood, of Oskaloosa, Carmen Allgood, of Oskaloosa, and Stephen (Betty) Allgood, of Eddyville; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verne and Lorena (Owens) Allgood; sisters, Inez Bloodsworth and Judy Cubit; and brothers, Don and Jack Allgood. r
He married twice. He married Diane Roozeboom March 24, 1968. Diane died 2000.
