OBIT: Gecka Jean Long, age 74, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at her residence. Gecka was born the daughter of Harley Earnest and Alethia M. (Brown) Bean on July 18, 1941, in Clinton, Indiana. She was a 1958 graduate of New Richmond High School, New Richmond, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Kenton “Keik” H. Long on June 23, 1977, in Bosworth, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2009. Gecka worked for Crawford and Company as a bottle cap maker for 25 years. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Barnard, Indiana, and attended the Hale Baptist Church, Hale, Missouri, and the Hurricane Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #3284 of Rockville, Indiana. Survivors include two stepsons, Eric “Tony” Long of Ladoga, Indiana, and Tim Long of Greencastle, Indiana; four step grandchildren; nieces, Debbie Leffler and husband David of Hale, Missouri, Marcella Fisher and friend Delbert Washington of Carrollton, Missouri, Erisa Bean of Bosworth, Missouri, and Anna Marie Rham of Kingman, Indiana, and Margaret Davis of Crawfordsville, Indiana; nephews, Jim Woolwine and wife Gayle of Cates, Indiana, and Harley Woolwine of Cates, Indiana; several other nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keik; four brothers; two sisters; one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Ladoga Cemetery, Ladoga, Indiana, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.

She married Kenton Howard Long June 23, 1977.

Kenton was born September 9,1944 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN. Kenton was the son of Wilburn Howard Long and Viole Rivers. Kenton died April 22, 2009 in Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN.
