Hazel died January 18, 1978 in Hillsboro, Fountain Co., IN. OBIT: Mrs Hazel E Summers, 78, of Hillsboro, died Wed, Jan 18 at St Elizabeth Hosp in Danville, Ill. She was a member of the Fairview Christian Church at Tangier and Hillsboro Senior Citizens. She attended Tangier schools. Born July 16, 1899, in Parke Co, she was the daughter of John & Belle Gilkinson Bean. She was married on Aug 31, 1918, to Cyril Summers, who died Jan 31, 1970. Survivors include three sons, Earl J and Orval Lee both of Hillsboro, and Harold D or Rt# 2 Veedersburg; four sisters, Mrs Grace Nickle & Mrs Ruby Nickle both of Hillsboro, Mrs Gladys Watson of Clinton and Mrs Ruth Guilliams of Newport; two brothers, Fred Bean of Greenwood & John V Bean of Perrysville; six grandchildren & two great-grandchildren. Services were held Sat at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev Richard Throckmorton officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Wallace.

She married Cyril J. Summers August 31, 1918. Cyril was born August 16, 1896 in IN. Cyril was the son of Joseph Monroe Summers and Lear Elizabeth Wagoner. Cyril died March 1970 in Veedersburg, Fountain Co., IN.
