Royal died April 27, 2011 in Eddyville, Mahaska Co., IA. OBIT: Royal Ray Allgood, 75, of Eddyville, died Wednesday April 27, 2011 at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.

He was born in Oskaloosa on Jan. 30, 1936, to Arthur William “Tod” and Lucile Mardell (Preston) Allgood.

Ray attended New Sharon High School. After high school he worked all his life in the heating and cooling business and antiquing. In 1972, Ray began his own heating and cooling business, never retiring.

Ray married Barbara Ann Johnston on Dec. 2, 1954, in Oskaloosa. Ray and Barb shared 56 years of marriage and were blessed with two sons.

Ray is survived by his mother Lucile Allgood, of Oskaloosa; his wife Barb Allgood, of Eddyville; two sons Donald Ray (Penny) Allgood and Robert “Sky” Allgood, all of Eddyville; three grandchildren Shawn, Barry, Megan; and four great-grandchildren Jered, Jaydin, Ryleigh and Baylie. Ray is also survived by one sister Joyce Bridenstine of Urbandale.

He is preceded in death by his father; and three brothers Gene, Dean, and Art Allgood.

He married Barbara Ann Johnston Decembe 2 1954 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA. Barbara was born April 27, 1938 in Eddyville, Mahaska Co., IA. Barbara was the daughter of Frederick Johnston and Edna Kimmers. Barbara died November 27, 2022.

Royal Ray Allgood and Barbara Ann Johnston had the following children:
