1202. Samuel (Sam) Etcheson⁶ Allgood (James E.⁵, James⁴, William (Pikey) Henry³, William John², Edward¹) was born in Sailor Springs, Clay Co., IL June 3, 1874. Samuel died February 8, 1948.

He married Bertha Almeda Riley December 12, 1897 in Effingham, Effingham Co., IL. Bertha was born 1878 in Fayette Co., IL. Bertha was the daughter of Lewis Tellis Riley and Phebe Hogge. Bertha died April 11, 1961. In 1930 Bertha's mother and father were living with her and Samuel.

Samuel (Sam) Etcheson Allgood and Bertha Almeda Riley had the following children:

4095 i. Leon Riley⁷ Algood was born in Sailor Springs, Clay Co., IL October 8, 1898. Leon died October 18,1917.

+ 4096 ii. Loren L. Algood was born March 8,1904.

4097 iii. Alta Marie Algood was born in Sailor Springs, Clay Co., IL May 26, 1911. Alta died May 1982 in Saint Elmo, Fayette Co., IL. She married Kenneth Luther Kelly March 17, 1943 in Selfton, Effingham Co., IL. Kenneth was born July 8, 1917. Kenneth was the son of Thomas George Kelly and Lotha Alice Childress. Kenneth died January 5, 2006 in Saint Elmo, Fayette Co., IL. OBIT: th L. Kelly, 88, of St. Elmo died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Friendship Manor, St. Elmo.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Kessel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Burial with graveside military rites will be in Kaskaskia Church Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Kaskaskia Church Cemetery.
