Fisher, 73, of Roanoke were Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Doug Turner officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens. Mr. Fisher died Thursday, Sept. 9, at Randolph County Hospital. A Randolph County native, Mr. Fisher was born April 1, 1926, son of William Henry and Velma Wilkinson Fisher. He was retired from the Air Force and had served during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. Survivors include two daughters, Sara Ayala of Hawaii and Jan Souders of Roanoke; one sister, Sue Bradley of Roanoke; three brothers, Wallace Fisher and Curtis Fisher of Roanoke and Walter Fisher of Griffin, Ga.; four grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Trae Wilkinson, Johnny Tennant, John Landers, Byron Morrison, Jim McKinney and John Tinney. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke."

He married Frances Juanita Boggs in Alamagorda, NM. Frances was born January 21, 1927 in Roanoke, Randolph Co., AL. Frances was the daughter of William E. Boggs and Lunnie M. (___). Frances died February 21, 1997 in Roanoke, Randolph Co. AL. Frances was buried in the Ranolph Memoria Gardens, Roanoke, AL
