Lauretta died September 1, 2012 in Keene, Johnson Co., TX. OBIT: Lauretta Bernice Ramsey, 85, passed away Sep. 01, 2012, in Keene. Service: 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, Graveside. Interment: Keene Cemetery in Keene. Lauretta B. (Allgood) Ramsey was born on Jan. 25, 1927 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Lena Priscilla Head and Dallas Allgood. Lauretta married in 1951 and had three sons, Dallas Lewis Ramsey, William Randall (Randy) Ramsey and Joe Edmund Ramsey. Lauretta settled down in Keene, Texas and took care of her parents in their later years. She worked as a med-aid for several years and later in life worked as an in-home care giver to elderly patients. Lauretta was a member of the Cleburne First Seventh-day Adventist Church and was honored to be a Seventh-day Adventist. She was not influenced by compromise in her beliefs, read her Bible every morning and loved Jesus and looked forward to meeting Him in the clouds of glory at His Second Coming. She leaves behind a legacy of love and a desire for everyone to be in heaven. Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Lee Allgood, Sr. and J. B. Allgood; son Joe Edmund Ramsey and two grandsons Randy Dale Ramsey and Jonathan Dallas Ramsey. Lauretta leaves behind sons Dallas Ramsey and wife Emily of Pine Hill, Alabama; Randy Ramsey of Cleburne, Texas; Sisters Bea Wallace of Keene, Texas; Imogene Lothian and husband Jim of Cleveland, Tennessee; Anna Jo Clithero and husband Bill of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; Milo the dog and numerous other family and dear friends who will miss her greatly. She married William Lewis Ramsey. William was born December 24, 1928. William was the son of Olen Ramsey and Mildred (___). William died July 30, 2012 in Grove Hill, AL. OBIT: William Lewis Ramsey, age 83, of Thomasville, died July 30, 2012, in Grove Hill. Private family services will be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Edmond Ramsey, and his grandsons, Randy Ramsey and Jonathan Dallas Ramsey.
Survivors include his sons, Dallas Lewis Ramsey and William Randall Ramsey; his sister, Elizabeth Greenway; his brother, Allan Ramsey; special friend, Dean Winters; and his grandchildren, Lee Ramsey, Jonathan Ramsey, Lacey Barber, and Nolie Ramsey.
He was a former teacher and coach and managed the Northport Grain Elevator.
William was buried in Nanafalia, Marengo County, Alabama
