Mae died May 29, 2005 in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA. OBIT: Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Sandifer Boozer will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 1, 2005, at Bailey Mortuary in Springhill with the Rev. Dennis Sims, pastor of Ellerbe Road Baptist Church in Shreveport, officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Mrs. Boozer, Mae,passed away Sunday, May 24, following a brief illness. She was born July 20, 1918, in Brookhaven, Miss., to Eugene and Martha West Sandifer. Mae was a resident of Springhill from 1947 until 1995, and a resident of the Glen-Stiles Apartments in Shreveport for the last 10 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Springhill and attended Ellerbe Road Baptist Church in Shreveport. Mrs. Boozer retired from International Paper Company, Woodlands Division, and was a staff member of Central Baptist Church for more than 15 years. She was strong in her faith, walked with her Lord and spoke with him daily. She adored her family and was a proud ?Mimi? and ?Grand Mimi.? She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; and one brother, Tom Sandifer. She is survived by her daughter, Martha ?Marty? Van Cleave and her husband Richard of Shreveport; granddaughter, Romy Mathews and her husband David of DeBerry, Texas; great-grandchildren, Austin Smith, Garrett Mathews and Karlie Mathews; nieces, Judy Thomas, Esther Meadows, Olivia Woods and several other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Robert Colley, Joe Curtis, James Barnes, David Sawyer, George Ray Smith and Carl Moore. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Drs. Jacobson, Singh, Scaltas and Rushing for their care and counsel; also Sister Suny, Audrey, Sandy, Jennifer, Tim, Renee, and all of the special staff on Highland Christus Schumpert?s Telemetry first floor for their gentle touches and attention. The family has tremendous gratitude for the staff and residents of The Glen-Stiles Apartments for their involvement in Mae?s life for the past 10 years. These were happy, content years and she just loved helping and caring for others and ?checking on? those who wanted to visit. Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children?s Home or to The Glen-Stiles Apartments.

She married Fred Boozer. Fred was born May 13, 1906. Fred died August 17, 1993 Springhill, Webster Parrish., LA.
