Ellizabeth died August 17, 2013 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Funeral services for Nelleane Allgood Harveston of Brookhaven are 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harveston, 86, died Aug. 17, 2013 at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 22, 1926 to Zollie Daniel Allgood and Clara Laird Allgood.
Mrs. Harveston was of the Baptist faith and was a retired supervisor with Stahl Urban Manufacturing Co. of Brookhaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, U.S. Harveston Sr.; three sisters and one brother; as well as her grandchild, Tina Thompson.
She is survived by two daughters, Jan Meier and husband, Dr. Paul Meier, of Richardson, Texas, and Patsy Thompson and husband, Kenneth, of Puckett; son, U.S. Harveston Jr. and wife, Karen, of Brookhaven; six grandchildren, Leah Smith and husband, Dustin, U. S. "Bob" Harveston III and wife, Brittany, Alana Fones and husband, Don, Alen Oster, Tony Thompson and Terry Thompson; five great-grandchildren, Harley, Rocco and Cooper Smith, and Vance and Valen Fones; her three sisters, Flora Mae Forrest, Ernestine White and Corrine Dominco; and her two brothers, Carey Beeson and Adolph Allgood.
She married twice. She married Uriah Sexton (U.S.) Harveston. Uriah was born October 13, 1915 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Uriah was the son of Frederick William (Fred) Harveston and Mamie Eugenia Furr. Uriah died October 19, 1982 in Lincoln Co., MS. Uriah was buried in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., MS.
She married Eldon Paul Smith October 5, 1992. Eldon was born March 26, 1923 in Franklin Co., MS. Eldon was the son of Walter L. Smith and Mae Smith. Eldon died October 22, 2004 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Eldon Paul Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Visitation is Sunday from 8 a.m. until noon at Brookhaven funeral home and from 1-2 p.m., at the church.
Mr. Smith, 81, died Oct. 22, 2004, at his residence. He was born in Franklin County on March 26, 1923. He was the fourth child of Walter L. and Mae Smith.
He was retired from Stahl-Urban Comany after 25 years of employment. In his retirement years, he worked as a contract painter. He attended Lucien High School in Lucien.
Mr. Smith loved his Lord, his church and his family. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered for all his favorite teams.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Annie Smith; and a brother, Marshall E. Smith.
Survivors are his wife, Nelleane Allgood Smith of Brookhaven; his sisters, Fannie Lee Lewis, Helen Smith and Nelda Wallace of Bogue Chitto; his brothers, Carroll Smith of Bogue Chitto, David Smith of Madison, and George Smith of Groves, Texas; his stepchildren, U.S. Harveston Jr. and Jan Oster of Brookhaven; his step-grandchildren, U.S. "Bob" Harveston III and Alen Oster of Brookhaven, and Alana Oster and Leah Smith of Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. n
