Elaine, 82, died Dec. 9, 2010, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was a member of McRaven Church of Christ in Clinton. She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 5, 1928.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Willie Hewitt and Grace Smith; her husband, Paul Prouty; and her brothers, Maurice Smith, Willie Hewitt Smith Jr. and Rodney Smith.

Survivors are her sisters, Neva Groome of Dallas, Texas, Arva Pearl Smith of Brookhaven, and Betty Allen of Edwards; her brother, Kirby Conrad Smith of Wynndale; and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives.

She married Paul Prouty.

Paul was born August 2i0, 1931. Paul died March 15, 2010.

24894 viii. Rodney Smith was born in Lincoln Co., MS April 16, 1937. Rodney died April 19, 1937 in Lincoln Co., MS.
