Visitation is today from 6-9 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 99, died June 3, 2003, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 29, 1904, to Nick Ed Smith and Anna Calcote Smith.

She was a school teacher and a librarian at the Lincoln County Library. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, George Isom Bethea; her second husband, Millard W. Smith; and a grandson, George Harvey Bethea Jr.

Survivors are her son, George Harvey Bethea of Homosassa, Fla.; her daughter, Virginia Anne Bethea Peavey of Brookhaven; her step-daughter, Audrey Smith Pringle of Hattiesburg; her sister, Bessie Callender Coker of Brookhaven; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.

She married twice. She married George Isom Bethea. George was born July 29, 1898. George was the son of Tristram David Bethea and Nancy Virginia Weatherly. George died September 28, 1941 in Hinds Co., MS. George was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.

She married Millard W. Smith. Millard was born March 41896. Millard was the son of Derrell L. Smith and Victoria B. Price. Millard died June 30, 1968 in Lincoln Co., MS. Millard He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.
