September 1, 2015. He was born December 14, 1940 to
Altamond Chandler and Hettie Case Chandler. He worked in the
oil field for 35 years as a Tool Pusher and he was also a Roofer.
Mr. Chandler served in the United States National Guard and was a
member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Billy Ray spent 50 years
officiating baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Lee Chandler and
Joyce Bachman; his parents; son, Billy Ray Chandler, Jr.; brothers,
Alta Sammy Chandler, Robert Earl Chandler; sister, Ella Rose Ladner;
and grandsons, Walker Chandler and Joshua Smith.
He is survived by his wife Jean T. Chandler; sons, Michael Dewayne Chandler
of Bogue Chitto, Alton Lee Chandler of Denham Springs, LA; daughters,
Charlotte Simmons of Denham Springs, LA, Kimberly Edgerton of Spokane, WA;
sister, Glenda Faye Smith; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 6 step
children and 15 step grandchildren.
He married three times. He married Mary Lee Walker. Mary was born May 5, 1943. Mary was the daughter of Lee J. Walker and Dovie Mae Delaughter. Mary died January 18, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Mary Lee Chandler, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m. today, Jan. 20 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Mrs. Chandler, 62, died Jan. 18, 2006, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 5, 1943, to L.J. Walker and Dovie May Walker. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her father; her grandchild, Walker Chandler; and a niece, Rebecca Walker. Survivors are her mother, Dovie May Walker, of Natchez; her husband, Billy Ray Chandler Sr., of Brookhaven; her sons, Billy Ray Chandler Jr., Michael Dewayne Chandler and Alton Lee Chandler, all of Brookhaven; her daughters, Charlotte Dianne Simmons and her husband, Obie, of Denham Springs, La., and Kim Chandler Edgerton and her husband, Christopher, of Spokane, Wash.; her brother, Larry Walker and his wife, Judy, of Natchez; her sister, Rebecca Henry and her husband, Neil, of Natchez; 15 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He married Addie Joyce Davis. Addie was born October 28, 1941 in MS. Addie was the daughter of Curtis Lee Davis and Addie Daisy Cotton. Addie died April 14, 2008 in Jackson, Hinds Co, MS. OBIT: Services for Joyce Bachman Chandler, of Brookhaven, will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, at New Sight Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. _ Visitation is Wednesday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Chandler, 66, died April 14, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. She was born on Oct. 28, 1941, to Curtis L. Davis Sr. and Addie Cotten Davis. She was retired from her job at Pansy's Greenhouse. She was a member of New Sight Baptist Church. She was a veteran of the United States Army. Preceding her in death were her parents; her first husband, Dale E. Bachman; and her brother, Gary G. Davis. Survivors are her husband, Billy Ray Chandler; her son, Jeffrey D. Bachman, of Wesson; her daughters, Linda Owens, of Hattiesburg, and Shari Crosby, of Bogue Chitto; her stepsons, Billy Ray Chandler Jr., Michael D. Chandler and Alton Lee Chandler; her stepdaughters, Charlotte D. Simmons and Kimberly Egerton; her brothers, Curtis L. Davis Jr. and James Davis, both of Wesson, and Michael Davis, of Huntsville, Ala.; her sisters, Roena Foster, of Brookhaven, and Cathy Fuller, of Wesson; her seven grandchildren and three great- grandchildren; and 17 stepgrandchildren and fourgreat-stepgrandchildren.
