Alvin died June 26, 2011 in Franklin Co., MS. OBIT: Visitation for Mr. Allen is Monday, June 27, 2011, from 5-8pm at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. His funeral service will be Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 3:00pm at Riverwood Chapel.
Mr. Allen, 81, of Brookhaven, died June 26, 2011, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Brookhaven on May 7, 1930, to Walter D. Allen and Elma Walker Allen. He was a retired machinist with Vickers in Jackson, MS. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He served in the Army during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alma Allen; 2 brothers, Morris Allen and Cecil Allen; 1 sister in law, Marilyn Allen; and several other loving nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Allen; 3 sons Kenny Allen and wife, Janet of Raymond, MS, Frank Allen of Brookhaven, MS, and Jeff Allen and wife, Rhonda, of Madison, MS; 1 daughter, Sharon Allen McMillian and husband, Bobby of Vicksburg, MS; 2 brothers, Clinton Allen and wife, Peggy of Brookhaven, MS and Clyde Allen of Brookhaven, MS; 1 sister, Eloise Walker and husband, Wilton, of Brookhaven, MS; 1 sister in law, Jo Pearl Allen of Clinton, MS; 5 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He married Carolyn Jane Helgason. Carolyn was born January 4, 1936 in Baltimore, Baltimore Co, MD. Carolyn was the daughter of Lyle Helgason and Jane Wylie. Carolyn died October 13, 2015 in Raymond, HInds Co., MS. Obit: Funeral services for Mrs. Allen will be 11:00 am,

Funeral Service. There will be a visitation from 9:00 am
until time of the service at Riverwood.
Mrs. Carolyn Jane Helgason Allen, 79, of Brookhaven,
passed away October 13, 2015 in Raymond, MS. She
was born in Baltimore, MD on January 4, 1936 to Lyle Helgason
and Jane Wylie Helgason.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin H. Allen; son,
Frank Allen; parents and brother, Dennis Helgason.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter,
Sharon Allen McMillian & husband Bobby; sons,
Lyle Kenneth “Kenny” Allen & wife Janet, and Jeff Allen.
She is also survived by her brother, Donald Helgason; sisters,
Janet Schwarz and Bonnie Moran; 7 grandchildren,
Chris Allen & wife Allyn, Angela Allen Jackson & husband Kendall,
Philip Steven Beck, Jr. & wife Pam, Missy Buchanan & husband Clint,
Tonya Cresswell & husband J.D., Spencer Allen, and
Walker Allen; 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Alvin H. Allen and Carolyn Jane Helgason had the following children:
