OBIT: Rev. Ernest Everett Weaver, son of James Claude and Stella A. Buttram Weaver, was born January 23, 1920, near Grovespring, Missouri.
He departed this life Sunday, September 25, 2005, in his home, near Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, eight months,
and two days. On August 9, 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Louis Ballard, and to this union thirteen children were born. He was
preceded in death by his parents; five infant children; a brother, Daniel Weaver; and two infant siblings. Ernest is survived by his loving
wife of fifty-eight years, Mary, of the home; eight children, Louise Washburn, and her husband, Vic, of Salisbury, Missouri, Everett Weaver,
and his wife, Lola, of Springfield, Missouri, Shirley Ballard, of Lebanon, Missouri, Dean Weaver, and his wife, Chris, of Niangua, Missouri,
Kathy Angst, and her husband, Doug, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Awana Weaver, of Lebanon, Missouri, Ernest Greg Weaver, and his wife, Bonnie,
and Clifford Weaver, and his wife, Michelle, all of Grovespring, Missouri; thirty grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; twelve
great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Weaver, and his wife, Roberta, of Osceola, Missouri, and Verlin Weaver, and his wife, Brenda,
of Grovespring, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised in the
Grovespring community. Soon after he and Mary were married, they made their home on their family farm, near Grovespring, and lovingly raised
their family. Throughout the years, Ernest operated his dairy and beef cattle farm and also worked at various other jobs at the same time.
He had owned and operated a sawmill, worked for Marshfield Steel for twelve years, owned a trucking company, and was employed as a
maintenance supervisor for Independent Stave Company until retiring. Later he operated a café in Niangua and then worked at his son’s
restaurant, the Homestead Café, in Grovespring. Ernest made his profession of faith in Christ at the age of forty-six and became a
Pentecostal minister. Over the last thirty-nine years, he had pastored congregations at Salem Pentecostal, Phillipsburg Pentecostal, Wood
Street Church, Sunshine Church, and Faith Chapel. He had also been the speaker for countless evangelistic events in Southwest Missouri. In
his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities included hunting and fishing. His family was very important to him
and he especially enjoyed all of his grandchildren. Ernest was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
great-great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a concerned and caring pastor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments
and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday,
September 28, 2005, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Little Vine Cemetery, near Grovespring. Visitation will be held
Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and
contributions may be made through the funeral home.
He married twice. He married Lovie Mae Ballard August 9, 1938 in Lacede Co., MO. Lovie was
born December 10, 1918 in Grovespring, Wright Co., MO. Lovie died February 6, 2001 in Fair Grove, Greene Co., MO. He married Mary Louise Ballard August 9, 1947 in Ladede, MO. Mary was born April 26, 1926 in
Grovespring, Wright Co., MO. Mary was the daughter of Harrison S. Ballard and Sara Jane Kinkade. Mary died
February 6, 2001 in Fair Grove, Greene Co., MO.
