Born May 27, 1947, in Bloomington, he was the son of Robert Allgood Sr. and Helen Mae (Thacker) Allgood. He married Maxine Prince on December 2, 1980, and she survives. He was employed at the Royal Dealership on East Third Street in Bloomington and at Dana Inc. in Mitchell. He was a member of the Donica Church of God.
Surviving with his wife, Maxine Allgood of Bedford, and his parents of Bloomington are two sons, Robert Allgood III and his wife Cherrie of Fresno, Calif., and Nicholas Allgood of Bedford; one daughter, Clarissa Allgood of Bloomington; one stepson, Stephen Prince and his wife Marie of Heltonville; two stepdaughters, Kathy Halstead and her husband Bob of Fort Ritner and Cheryl Norman and her husband Tony of Bedford; one sister, Sharon Hayden and her husband Jerry of Bloomington; one brother, Mike Allgood and his wife Judy of Ellettsville; 11 grandchildren: Jerry Allgood, Rose Marie Allgood, Robyn Allgood, Abigail Allgood, Anna Pemberton, Tonya Cunningham, Teresa Sons, Troy Carter, Tina McIntire, Tami Carter and Tanya Price; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vicky Raper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Farrell Sowder and the Rev. Kendall Hendrickson officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the mortuary.
