OBIT: Mrs. Dessie Sprinkle Reece, 87, of Shacktown Road died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Willowbrook Health Care Center. She was born in Yadkin County on March 16, 1916, to the late Rosco and Amila Hutchens Sprinkle. She was a homemaker. Surviving are two sisters, Sally Macemore of Hamptonville and Maggie Swain of Yadkinville; several nieces and nephews; and a special great-niece, Kim Redmond. Mrs. Reece was preceded in death by her husband, George Reece; a brother, Carl Sprinkle; and five sisters, Lola Hutchens, Helen Pearson, Stella Booe, Beulah Robbins and Betty Melton. A funeral service for Mrs. Reece will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in the Mackie-Reavis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, March 1, at the funeral home. Mackie-Reavis Funeral Home of Yadkinville is serving the family of Mrs. Reece.
