Michael died June 29, 2009 in Lucasville, Scioto Co, OH. OBIT: Michael Dale Adkins, 59, of Lucasville, died Sunday, June 29, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Lloyd and Gladys Phipps Adkins. Mike was a former drill press operator for Capitol Manufacturing in Columbus and a member of Community Bible Church where he served as deacon.

Mike is survived by his wife, Vicki Diane Potts Adkins, whom he married July 3, 1999, in Lucasville; two daughters, Tracie (Mike) Basham of Lucasville, and Trisha Casto of Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren, Emily, Katie and M.J. Basham; two brothers, Don (Cheryl) Adkins of Clarktown and Ron (Rita) Adkins of Lucasville; three sisters, Judy (Warren) Stephens of McDermott, Alice Adkins of Lucasville, and Wanda (Gene) Elliott of Lucasville.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Community Bible Church on Fairgrounds Road, with Joey Nelson and J.D. Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the church.
