OBIT: Earnest Lester Smith, 71, died Tuesday morning in Gainesville Memorial Hospital. He was born June 7, 1910 in Cooke County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Smith. Earnest was a retired carpenter and a veteran of World War II. He married Merle Gray, June 7, 1966 in Gainesville.

Survivors are his wife; brothers, Edgar, Harvey, Andrew, Carroll and Paul Smith; sister, Estelle Smith.

Maudie Ramsey and Samuel T. Biggs had the following children:
