She married Otis James Pierce January 23, 1949 in Gainesville, Cooke Co., TX. Otis was born August 22, 1923 in Lone Grove, Carter Co., OK. Otis was the son of O. P. Pierce and Dovie Derica Ann (___). Otis died December 4, 2007 in Gainesville, Cooke Co., TX. OBIT: OTIS PIERCE SR. Services for Otis Pierce Sr., 84, of Gainesville are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Perry of Walnut Bend Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville. Mr. Pierce died Dec. 4, 2007, at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Lone Grove, Okla., to O.P. and Dovie (Lowery) Pierce. On Jan. 23, 1949, he married Stella Biggs in Gainesville, Texas. He was of the Baptist faith and worked for over 20 years with Barnes Brothers in Gainesville. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Otis and Debra Pierce of Woodbine and Milton and Joanie Pierce of Walnut Bend; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and John Southerland of Walnut Bend and Brenda Pierce of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Donnie Cummings of Lucerne Valley, California Birdie Bowen of California and Gladys Hott of Thackerville, Okla.; special friend, Helen Wyatt of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Stella Pierce in 2001; daughter, Margaret Pierce; brother, Loyd Pierce; and sisters, Lois Beard, Evelyn Holloway and Nancy Keith. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. Visitation will be at the Clement-Keel Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m..
