Nancy died October 28, 2011 in Chesterfield Co., VA. OBIT: Inez Bevell Swann , 85, joined her loving husband, William (Bill) Swann in heaven on their 61st wedding anniversary, October 28, 2011.
She is survived by her three children, Charles (Chip) Swann (Mary) of Cape Coral, FL, Martha Swann Southall (Darrell) of Chesterfield, VA and Sarah Swann Holland (Tom) of Midlothian, VA; two grandchildren, Dylan Southall and Ashley Swann.
Inez graduated from Blackstone High School and Mary Washington College.
She was the daughter of Charlie and Nellie Bevell of Blackstone, VA.
The family extended their heartfelt gratitude to Inez's wonderful care givers at the Laurels of Bon Air and Asera Care Hospice.
The family received friends from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Chesterfield Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Homes, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy. A graveside service for Mrs. Swann was at 11am on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Lakeview Cemetery, Blackstone, VA.
She married William Gatewood Swann 1950. William was born October 9, 1926 in Richmond Co., VA. William was the son of Samuel A Swann and Mabel M Gatewood. William died October 9, 2003. OBIT: William Gatewood Swann, 77, of Midlothian, formerly of Blackstone, VA, passed away October 9, 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Inez Bevell Swann; son, Charles A. "Chip" Swann and his wife, Mary of Cape Coral, FL; two daughters, Martha S. Southall and her husband, Darrell of Chesterfield and Sarah S. Holland and her husband, Tom of Midlothian; sister, Sarah S. Pike of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Dylan and Ashley.
Mr. Swann was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel A. "Amory" Swann Jr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
The family received friends Friday from 6pm to 8pm at the Huguenot Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. Graveside services were held Saturday at 2pm at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackstone, VA.
