Lewis died June 1, 2005 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Lewis Ray Allgood, 80, a lifelong resident of Clemmons, died June 1 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 3, 1924, in Forsyth County to Beulah Lowder and Charles Robah Allgood. He was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church and had retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, EmmaLee Myers Allgood; and a daughter, Darlene Allgood Wooten. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Allgood Payne and husband Robert of Greensboro; a son-in-law, Danny Wooten of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Stephen Payne and wife Larissa of Annandale, Va., Jon Wooten and wife Kendra of Clemmons, Dory Payne Fredricksen and husband Troy of Greensboro and Alan Wooten of Clemmons; and two great-grandchildren, Jacey Wooten and Ryan Fredricksen. A graveside service was held in Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. R. Howard Wagoner and Rev. Justin W. Jones officiating.
He married Emma Lee Myers. Emma was born March 10, 1926 in Forsyth Co., NC. Emma was the daughter of Charlie Roy Myers and Thelma Lucille Blackburn. Emma died February 11, 2005 in Clemmons, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: EmmaLee Myers Allgood, 78, of Clemmons died February 11 at her home. She was born March 10, 1926, in Forsyth County, a daughter of Charlie Roy Myers and Thelma Blackburn Myers. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Allgood Wooten, in 2002. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Lewis Ray Allgood of the home; a daughter, Betty Payne and husband Bob of Greensboro; son-in-law Danny Wooten of Clemmons; a brother, Raeford Myers of Clemmons; a sister, Lucille Potts of Advance; grandchildren Stephen Payne and wife Larissa, Jonathan Wooten and wife Kendra, Dorian Fredrickson and husband Troy, and Alan Wooten; and great-grandchildren Jacey Wooten and Ryan Fredrickson. A graveside service was held at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Howard Wagnor officiating.
