George died February 13, 2006 in Chase City, Mecklenburg Co., VA. OBIT: George William York, 58, of Chase City, died Feb. 13, 2006. He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Chase City American Legion Post No. 43, and a member of Chase City Masonic Lodge 119 A. F. and A. M. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis York; a daughter, Monica Adcock and husband, Gary, of Halifax; two sons, Adam York and Lewis York of Chase City; and six grandchildren, Lindsey and Patrick Adcock, Allissa, Alizsha, Aleah, and My'Teauna York. Funeral services were held Thursday at Wood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ken Davis officiating. Interment followed in Woodland Cemetery with military honors and masonic rites
He married twice. He married Constance Ann Jones September 10, 1966 in Wylliesburg, Charlotte Co., VA. Constance was born July 26, 1948 in Prince Edward Co., VA. Constance was the daughter of W. B. Jones and Lucille Dudley. Constance died July 3, 2011 in Lewisville, Denton Co., TX.
