Thelma died May 1, 2010 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN. OBIT: Thelma Louise Irwin, 97, of Veedersburg, Indiana, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Lane House Nursing Home in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

She was born on Nov. 20, 1912 in Veedersburg, Indiana to Earl and Alice Phipps Boord. She married Leo R. Irwin on April 27, 1932. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, James E. Irwin; two sisters, Mariam Layman and Helen Clements and two brothers, Leighton Boord and Joe Boord.

Surviving are three daughters, Alice E. (Gordon) Stonecipher of Hillsboro, Indiana, Rita J. Hoskins of Hillsboro, Indiana and Mariam A. "Mim" Keeling of Veedersburg, Indiana; a brother, Robert O. Boord of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She married Leo R. Irwin. Leo was born October 18, 1910 in Carbon, Clay Co., IN. Leo was the son of Cordelia Jane Pruett. Leo died April 6, 1967 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN.

Thelma Louise Boord and Leo R. Irwin had the following children:

17996 iii. James Earl Irwin was born in Fountain Co., IN July 10, 1933. James died August 11, 1998 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN. OBIT: James Earl Irwin, 65,404 Chamber St., Veedersburg, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998 in the Culver Union Hospital, Crawfordsville. Born July 10, 1933 in Fountain County, he was the son Leo and Thelma Boord Irwin.

He was a life resident of Fountain County and attended school in Veedersburg. He was formerly employed by Waynetown Tile Company as a truck driver until 1974. From 1974 until his retirement in 1989, he worked at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors besides his mother include: sisters, Alice (Gordon) Stonecipher and Rita Hoskins, both of Hillsboro, and Mariam "Mim" Keeling, Veedersburg.

Following cremation, memorial gravesite services will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, is in charge of local arrangements
