One of the things that we have done during our annual reunion is to take up a collection that goes toward the care and maintenance of the Wood Cemetery. Each year, donations are taken during the reunion are given to the cemetery fund, the purpose of which is the upkeep of the Wood Cemetery. In the late 1950's, the cemetery was in bad condition. A. L. (Fate) Algood, Wiley Keene, and others repaired tombs, washed and added concrete markers to all the graves. A new tomb has been placed for Mary Wallace Davis Wood and Josephine Wood Gibbon. A chain link fence has been installed and the cemetery enlarged.  |

After the Wood Reunion was organized in August of 1958 by Aaron L. Algood, it met
the first Sunday in August until 1965, when the reunion was moved to the 2nd
Saturday in June.
We are unsure of when Woodward Horton was elected president, but he held that office
until his death in 1965.
