Wood Reunion Scrapbook

The Wood Family Reunion was organized in August of 1958 by Aaron L. (Fate) Algood for the descendants of Matthew J. Wood and Mary Wallace Davis. It is held annually the second Saturday of June at the Smallwood Church in Winston County, Mississippi.

Each year, donations are taken during the reunion are given to the cemetery fund, the purpose of which is the upkeep of the Wood Cemetery. In the late 1950's, the cemetery was in bad condition. A. L. (Fate) Algood, Wiley Keene, and others repaired tombs, washed and added concrete markers to all the graves. A new tomb has been placed for Mary Wallace Davis Wood and Josephine Wood Gibbon. A chain link fence has been installed and the cemetery enlarged.
