Bobby died March 17, 2010 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. OBIT: Bobby Wayne Newsome, 71, of Seale, AL died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at The Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA 31907. Mr. Newsome was born May 6, 1938 in Phenix City, AL son of the late Robert Carter Newsome and Anna Violee Newsome. He worked at Bellsouth as a Network Technician for 32 years. He was a veteran with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Pioneers and a Baptist by faith. He loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors with a special love for animals. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, George "Curry", Meredith, and Lucille Taunton. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty Newsome of Seale, AL; two daughters, Lynn Newsome and Diana Newsome both of Tennessee; four sons, Wayne Newsome of Tennessee, Richard Newsome and Scott Newsome, both of New York and David Albert Richardson (Kathy) of Douglasville, GA; brother, David Carter Newsome of Society Hill, AL; sisters, Mary Evans (Kenny) of Indiana and Willie Doherty of Phenix City, AL; a special sister-in-law, Patty Atkins Williamson (Bill) of Carrollton, GA; several grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He married three times. He married Linda Garrett 1958 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Linda was born 1941 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Linda was the daughter of Dorsesy Garrett and Nettie (____). Linda died April 20,2016.
Bobby Wayne Newsome and Linda Garrett had the following children:
