Elma was the daughter of Issac Job Shermer and Sarah Catherine Gough. Elma died May 1993 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. Ezra and his brother Herman owned and operated the Hoots Motor Company in Winston-Salem. They sold and serviced Diamond T trucks.
