Faye died July 4, 2015 in Jamestown, Guilford Co., NC. OBIT: Faye Martin Hilton, 89, formerly of High Point, died peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center in Jamestown. She was born September 5, 1925, in Yadkin County to the late John Frank Martin and Gertrude Allgood Martin. On September 1, 1946, at Courtney Baptist Church, she married William C. Hilton who passed away in December 2005. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Elizabeth Hilton in September 2005; three sisters, Ruth Steelman, Doris Martin and Joan Martin; three brothers, Roger Martin, Fred Martin and Paul Martin; and four brothers-in-law, Clyde Steelman, R.P. Martin, Jack Barnes and Hoyt Hilton. Mrs. Hilton is survived by one daughter, Donna Hilton Helser of High Point; one granddaughter, Emily Helser Daniels and husband James Daniels; and one great grandson, Gabriel Daniels of Alexandria, Virginia. She is also survived by two sisters, Betty Barnes of King, and Mary Brock and husband John Brock of Mocksville; three sisters-in-law, Frances Martin and Anna Martin of Kannapolis and Phyllis Parkerson of Greensboro; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hilton was blessed with a long and simple life during which she enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading voraciously, working puzzles, and lovingly maintaining scrapbooks. Her true passions, though, were her faith and family. She was a longstanding member of Emerywood Baptist Church and the Ladies IV Sunday School Class and a former member of First Reformed United Church of Christ where she served as Deacon, President of the Women's Guild, and teacher in the Children's and Youth Department. In keeping with her legacy of devotion, we believe she will spend her time among the angels reuniting with those who passed before her, singing off-key hymns, and watching over her friends and family with the same love she shared in this life. Indeed, all will be well with her soul and peace will attend her way. She was a member of High Point Chapter No. 106 Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She also served as Grand Representative of Minnesota and Texas, District Deputy Grand Matron, Grand Esther, and Grand Warder in the Eastern Star Grand Chapter of North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Emerywood Baptist Church in High Point with Dr. Robert U. Ferguson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church.
