Raymond died May 3, 1961 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Obit: May 4,1961 Raymond Eugene Newsome, 44, 702 14th St. Phenix City, was found dead at his home at 8:45 am Wednesday. Russell County Coroner John Anthony indicated that he believe Newsome's death was the result of natural causes. Anthony added that it would be from two to three weeks before autopsy findings, which was held Wednesday, will be available. He had resided in Phenix City all his life and was a professional musician. Born June 15, 1916 in Phenix City, Mr Newsome was the son of C A (Doc) Newsome and the late Flossie Horne Newsome. Surviving besides his father are three sisters, Mrs R S Cook, Decatur, Ga., Mrs A D Thomas, Clarendon, Ark. and Mrs J R May Jr, Phenix City; one brother, Sgt Albert D Newsome, Roswell, N. Mex. and several nieces and nephews.
He married Francies (__). Francies was born 1918.
