Arlin died January 2, 2009 in Douglas Co., MO. OBIT: Arlin Monroe Wake passed away on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on Feb. 16, 1927, to Otis and Pearly (Turnbull) Wake, in rural Douglas County, Missouri, he was 81 years old. Mr. Wake grew up in Douglas County on the family farm. He worked for most of his life as a logger and sawmill operator. He married Dorothy June Havens in September of 1948, and to this union, four sons were born. He has lived in Willow Springs for the past 50 years. After his retirement, Mr. Wake enjoyed working in his garden growing tomatoes, and flowers around his yard. He enjoyed yard sales, going to craft fairs and his many trips to Wal-Mart. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Wake on Dec. 29, 1985; his parents Otis and Pearly Wake; his brothers Buster, Estel, Gardner and Vaude Wake; and one sister Imogene Reed. Mr. Wake is survived by his sons Richard Wake and his wife Patricia, Gary Wake and his wife Connie, Rick Wake and his wife Glenda, and Allen Wake, all of Willow Springs. He is further survived by his grandchildren Brooke Fair and her husband Brody, Chad Wake and his wife Jeanett, Toni Autrey and her husband Daniel, and Tina Walton and her husband Dennis, all of Willow Springs. Six great-grandchildren, and his brothers Guy Wake and Johnny Wake further survive. He will be dearly missed by his friend Evelyn Davis. Graveside funeral services were Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at the Willow Springs #2 Church Cemetery located in Vanzant, Mo.
He married Dorothy June Havens September 1948 in Willow Springs, Howell Co., MO. Dorothy was born November 2, 1931. Dorothy died December 25, 1985 in Willow Springs, Howell Co., MO.
