William died November 28, 2011 in Independence, Jackson Co., MO. OBIT: William A. McReynolds, 89 of Independence, Missouri passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law Gary and Marsha McReynolds. Funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at DW Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, Independence. Burial will be 2:00pm at Lathrop Cemetery, Lathrop, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday, at the Funeral Home. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.nolandroadchapel.com Will was born January 6, 1922 in Mercer, Missouri to William Daniel and Cassie Mabel "Young" McReynolds. He moved to Lawson, Missouri at a young age and stayed in Lawson until he was married. Will married Catherine "Shackelford" McReynolds on June 29, 1946. He worked for General Motors for 32 years. Will was a skilled carpenter who built three homes for his family as well as many sets of kitchen cabinets and beautiful grandmother clocks for family and friends. In his retirement years, he continued his love of woodworking along side his son building furniture. Will was a very hard worker and loved to help others. One favorite outing was to drive his 1937 Chevy Business Coupe to car shows and park it right beside his sons car. He loved to "talk" cars with all of his buddies at the cruise nights. Will was a Christian who placed his trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of Rockwood Baptist Church. Will is preceded into death by his parents, loving wife Catherine McReynolds and sister Pauline Denton. Will was truly a gentleman and loved by many including the love of his family. He is survived by Son: Gary McReynolds and his wife Marsha. 2 Grandson: Ammon McReynolds and Zeth McReynolds and his wife April.
He married Ellfreda Catherine Shackelford June 29, 1946. Ellfreda was born September 20,1924 in Plattsburg, MO. Ellfreda was the daughter of William J Shackelford and Beulah Hisel. Ellfreda died September 7, 2000 in Independence, Jackson Co., MO.
