Johnnie died September 6, 1995 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co, AL. Obit: Funeral services for Mr. Johnie Claude Wilkinson, 77, of Roanoke, formerly of Atlanta, were Friday, Sept. 8, 1995, at 11 a.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Boyd officiating. Burial was at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. Mr. Wilkinson died Wednesday, Sept. 6, at University Hospital in Birmingham. A Randolph County native, he was born Sept. 20, 1917, son of John Kane and Martha Jane Hodge Wilkinson. He had worked as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Lucile Sprayberry Wilkinson of Roanoke; a daughter, Faye Gordon of Atlanta; a son, Johnny Wayne Wilkinson of Atlanta; two sisters, Bertha Camp of Douglasville, Ga., and Marie Langley of Opelika; a brother, Pelham Wilkinson of LaGrange, Ga.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Nephews of Mr. Wilkinson served as pallbearers. Quattlebaum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
