2357. George Edgar9 Staggs (Samuel8, Rachel7 Allgood, Spencer6, Edward5, William4 Algood, Edward3 Allgood, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Montgomery Co., IN July 26, 1886. George died May 15,1977 in Stafford Springs, Tolland Co., CT. OBIT: Edgar Staggs, 90, Marshall, a life resident and long time farmer in the Marshall-Waveland area, died Sunday at Stafford Spring, Conn., where he was visiting.
Born July 26, 1886, in Parke County, he was a son of Samuel and Sally Yount Staggs. He was a member of Wesleyan United Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Esther of Sarasota, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. William (Arloene Lavon) Leagreen of Marshall and Mrs. Elnora May Carpenter of Bradenton, Fla; a sister, Grace Staggs of Marion; a brother, Tom of Cates; two grandsons and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Machledt & Servies Funeral Home at Waveland. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
He married twice. He married Georgia Mae Moore August 26, 1909 in Montgomery co., IN. Georgia was born Jfanuary 19,1892 in Montgomery Co., IN. Georgia was the daughter of John B. Moorfe and Nancy Ann Ritter. Georgia died May 23,1964. He married Esther Louise Whelchel December 27, 1922 in IN. Esther was born August 23,1904 in IN. Esther was the daughter of Ezra Franklin Whelchel and Rebecca May Gimsason. Esther died April 9, 1981 in Sarasota Co., FL.

7419 ii. Genevieve Staggs was born in IN March 13, 1912. Genevieve died December 27, 1983 in Crawfordville, Montgomery Co., IN. She married Earl Hodson. Earl was born 1912.
7420 iii. Irene Marie Staggs was born February 20, 1915.
George Edgar Staggs and Esther Louise Whelchel had the following children:
7421 iv. Elnora May Staggs was born in Laketon, IN June 11, 1920. Elnora died February 23,2008 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN. She married Wallace Irving Carpenter December 30,1972 in Sarasota Co., FL.
