He married Mollie Mae West December 24, 1928. Mollie was born May 8, 1904 in MS. Mollie was the daughter of Wiliam Luther West and Slenia Walker. Mollie died June 17, 1988 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Mollie and Harvey were buried in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Lincoln Co., MS Harvey was born an Allen but raised by Ophelia's parents as a Smith.

Harvey Lee Smith and Mollie Mae West had the following children:
