Louis died December 13, 2009 in Covington, St Tammany Parrish, LA. OBIT: Services for Louis Harrison Clark, 87, of Alexandria will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville. Officiating will be Mr. Clark’s son-in-law, Ross English, and grandson, Jay English.
Mr. Clark passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2009, in Covington, Louisiana after a brief illness. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the Naval Air corps in the South Pacific. A resident of Alexandria, he retired from the City of Alexandria and Rapides Bank and Trust. Mr. Clark was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, serving as an ordained deacon and Sunday School secretary.
He is survived by his wife, of 63 years Omeria Clark; a daughter, Carey Clark English and husband Ross of Mandeville, Louisiana; a son, Richard Clark and wife Elizabeth of Natchitoches, Louisiana; one sister, Sybil Clark McFarlen and husband James (Red) of Jena, Louisiana; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buett and Mary Clark; one brother and eight sisters.
Pallbearers are Derek Graves, Andy Fuller, Shelby Edwards, Gary McKay, Michael McKay, and Marty McKay.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 15, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Alexandria and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at Calvary Baptist Church Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Services are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
He married Omeria Ida McKay 1946. Omeria was born January 4, 1928 in Vick, Avoyelles Parish, LA. Omeria died October 23, 2010 in Covington, St Tammany Parrish, LA.
Louis Harrison Clark and Omeria Ida McKay had the following children:
