Gay died September 18, 2008 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Gay S. Smith, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 64, died Sept. 18, 2008, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born on March 17, 1944 to Jeffie Oscar Smith and Bessie Case Smith.

She was a graduate of Loyd Star High School and attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College. She practiced cosmetology and was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her father; a brother, Reggie Kent Smith; and a sister, Will Ann Fugler and her husband, Robert.

Survivors are her husband of 47 years, Donald F. Smith; her mother; a son, Jeff Smith and wife, Rose; a daughter, Deanna Smith and husband, Mitchell; her sisters-in-law, Donis Case and husband, Lamar and Charlotte Smith; a mother-in-law, Winnie Smith; her five grandchildren, Brooks Smith and wife, Kyndal, Jeremy DeDeaux and wife, Bridget, Jeffie-Blake Smith, Lindy Smith and Lauren Smith; her four great-grandchildren, Aubrey Claire Boman, Brooklyn Elizabeth Smith, Stoney DeDeaux and Lansley DeDeaux; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She married Donald F. Smith 1961. Donald was born June 25,1943 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. Donald was the son of Fred O Smith and Willie Belle Case. Donald died March 25, 2016 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS.

Gay Smith and Donald F. Smith had the following children:
