Aubrey died September 4, 1961. Aulbrey was buried in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co.,

He married Zelda Gertrude Cupit December 23, 1937 in Lincoln Co., MS. Zelda was born May 18, 1913 in Jefferson Co., MS. Zelda was the daughter of Lee Bert Cupit and Mary Esther Ferguson. Zelda died June 16, 2006 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Zeldra Cupit Smith Wallace, of Brookhaven, were 2 p.m. Sunday, June 18, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mrs. Wallace, 93, died June 16, 2006, at Silver Cross Home in Brookhaven. She was born in Jefferson County on May 18, 1913, to Bertie Cupit and Esther Ferguson Cupit. She was retired from Stahl-Urban Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Aubrey Smith and Zack Wallace; her son, Robert Lee Smith; and her brothers, Mack Cupit, Bert Cupit, J.W. Cupit, Marshall Cupit, Willard Cupit, Elmer Cupit, Homer Cupit, and Richard Alton "Sonnie Boy" Cupit. Survivors are her sons, Harold Smith and wife Carolyn, of McCall Creek, and Dennis Smith and wife Connie, of Dayton, Texas; her daughters, Faye Watts and husband Raymond, Billie Amic, and Margie Boyles and husband Dale, all of Brookhaven; her sister, Pauline Kirby, of Ridgeland; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries.

Aubrey Lee Smith and Zelda Gertrude Cupit had the following children:
