Ida died May 10, 2008 in Utica, Hinds Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Ida Lexie Falvey Hales, of Utica, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive with burial in Beauregard Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hales, 84, went to be with the Lord on Mother's Day and her wedding anniversary date of May 10, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Lincoln County on Dec. 13, 1923, to Dan Falvey and Lillian Falvey. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Beauregard Methodist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Paul E. Hales. Survivors are her sons, Ken Hales, of Utica, Glenn Hales, of Jackson, Rodger Hales, of Utica, Phillip Hales, of Tupelo, Lester Hales, of Gadsden, Ala., and Mark Hales, of Utica; her 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She married Paul E. Hales. Paul was born Octber 16, 1919 in Wesson, Copiah Co, MS. Paul was the son of John W. Hales and Ada Rushing. Paul died May 5, 2005 in Utica, Hinds Co., MS. OBIT: Services for Paul E. Hales of Utica were 3:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Beauregard Cemetery.
Mr. Hales, 85, died May 5, 2005, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Wesson on Oct. 16, 1919, to Paul E. Hales and Annie Hales.
He was a house painter and construction worker. He was a member of Beauregard Methodist Church. He was a Marine.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters and three brothers.
Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Lexie Hales of Utica; his sons, Kenneth Hales, Rodger Hales, and Mark Hales, all of Utica, Glenn Hales of Jackson, Phillip Hales of Tupelo, and Lester Hales of Gadsden, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
