Funeral service for James Monroe Britt, Sr. will be 1:00 pm Monday, February 23, 2015 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, February 22 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service and will resume Monday from 11:00 until time of service at Macedonia. Mr. Britt, 77, of Wesson, passed away February 21, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 2, 1937 to Floyd and Gladys Montgomery Britt. Mr. Britt was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was also a Loyd Star FFA Alumni. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Minnie Bell Boyd; and grandson, Aven Paul Raney. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Lynelle Ferguson Britt; sons, James Monroe “Chuck” Britt, Jr., Travis Cody Britt & fiancé Renee Givens; daughter, Carole Ravae Britt Raney & husband Kelcy; brothers-in-law, Edward M. Ferguson & wife Jackie, Danny Ferguson & wife Sue, Rickey Ferguson & wife Cathey, Robert Earl Boyd; sister-in-law, Helen Ruth Lea & husband Hubert; 5 grandchildren, Dewayne Smith, Brad Britt (Kristy), Jimmy Britt, Lauren Sims (Jason), Rusti Rippy (Chris); and 6 great grandchildren, Hayden, Reagan, Austin,

He married Oris Lynelle Ferguson July 17, 1955 in Lincoln Co., MS. Oris was born 1938. Oris was the daughter of Manson Merrill Ferguson and Helen West.

James (Jimmy) Monroe Britt and Oris Lynelle Ferguson had the following children:
