Mrs. Floyd, 55, died July 11, 2003, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born in Brookhaven on Feb. 1, 1948, to Olion Britt and Ruby Lee Newell Britt.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church.
Preceding her in death were her father, and her daughter, Stephanie Elaine Hudson.
Survivors are her mother; her husband, Charles Floyd of Brookhaven; her sons, Scott Hudson and Charles Byron Floyd, both of Brookhaven; her step-daughters, Denise Avery of Kentwood, La., Charla Granger of Magnolia, and Belissa Church of North Dakota; her brother, James Mitchell Britt of Brookhaven; her sister, Patsy Clavilleof Covington, Ga.; her 13 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
She married twice. She married Charles Bryon Floyd February 8, 1980. Charles was born April 18, 1937 in Lincoln Co., MS. Charles was the son of Samuel M. Floyd and Johnnie Pearl Ables. Charles died June 23, 2008 in Brookhaven, Lincoln Co., MS. OBIT: Charles B. Floyd, 71, of Brookhaven, died June 23, 2008, at his home.
Visitation will be 5 to 10 tonight at Solid Rock Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with Bro. Jerry Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Lincoln County. Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Floyd was born April 18, 1937, in Lincoln County.He was the son of Samuel M. Floyd and Johnnie Pearl Ables Floyd.Mr. Floyd was a retired oil field worker and a member of Solid Rock Pentecostal Church. He also served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Elaine Britt Floyd; one daughter, Tammy Floyd; one grandson, Tyler Church; and two great-grandchildren, Micha Layne Womack and Matthew Wyatt Womack. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in law, Charles Byron Floyd Jr. and Paige, and Scott Hudson and Julie, all of Brookhaven; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charla Granger and Bill of Magnolia, Denise Avery and Stephen of Mount Hermon, La., and Belissa Church of North Dakota; one brother, three sisters and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
