Alene died October 22, 2010 in Grant, Perkins Co., NE. OBIT: Alene Martinson, 87, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, in Garden City.
She was born May 8, 1923, in Castro County, Texas, to Claude and Dora Turner Johnson.
On Feb. 28, 1940, she married Manfrid "Sandy" Martinson in Clovis, N.M. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; one brother; and a son, Claudell.
Mrs. Martinson had worked in the Perkins County Assessor's office. A Garden City resident since October 2009, she lived with her daughter, Lynda Turner.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Fauth of Lincoln, Neb., Shirley Howell of Grant, Neb., and Turner; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Imogene McKinney, Melba Smith and Beverly Russell, and a brother, Jimmy Johnson, all of Texas.
Funeral was at Grant New Life Fellowship Church. Burial was at Grant Cemetery.
She married Manfrid Martinson February 28,1 940 in Clovis, Curry Co., NM. Manfrid was born February 1, 1911. Manfrid died March 19,1991 in Grant, Perkins Co., NE.
