Brenda died August 27, 2008 in Catawba Co., NC. OBIT: Mrs. Brenda Beard Propst, 65, of Hidden Creek Circle in Hickory, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born Feb. 19, 1943, in Catawba County to the late Paul Lowell Beard and Margaret Barringer Beard. Mrs. Propst was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and a nurse of 45 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth Propst; a son, Mitchell Eugene Lefever; three brothers, Russell, Paul Jr. and Bobby Mack Beard; and a sister, Margaret Blalock. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael LeFever and Debbie of Newton; two grandchildren, Brittany and Casey LeFever; two sisters, Mary Randall of Newton and Elizabeth Rozzelle of Hickory; and three brothers, Lowell Beard of Maiden, and Alvin Beard and Robert Sherrill, both of Newton. The funeral service for Mrs. Propst will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Mackie-High Chapel, with the Rev. David Byers officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Beard, Gene Cline, Ricky Reavis, Bobby Sherrill, Alvin Beard Jr., Chad Stewart and Gary Estes. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at Mackie-High Funeral Home. Mackie-High Funeral Home is serving the Propst family
