Dorothy died March 16, 2010 in Catawba Co., NC. OBIT: Dorothy "Dot" Almeta Beard Watts, 81, of Conover, passed away March 16, 2010, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley. She was born June 12, 1928, in Catawba County to the late Emmitt Beard and Grace Litten Beard. She was a faithful, lifetime Baptist and retired from Sears as a sales associate. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Greer, and one granddaughter, Carla Withers. She is survived by her husband, Carl Watts of the home; son, Terry Watts and his wife, Robin, of Hickory; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Easley, S.C., and Shirley Hullet of Maiden; one brother, Clarence Beard of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Brad Withers and Greg Withers; and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 19, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Catawba Memorial Park, with the Rev. Paul Grindstaff officiating. The family will receive friends today, Thursday, March 18, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home. Interment will be in Catawba Memorial Park
She married Cart Hallman (Cotton) Watts. Cart was born 1928. Cart is the son of Beverly Watts and Artie Pearl Hallman.
