He married Elizabeth Lou (Betty) Dorsey December 26, 1929 in Vance Co., NC. Elizabeth was born August 25, 1910 in Vance Co., NC. Elizabeth was the daughter of Charles W. Dorsey and Araminton (Minnie) Stainback. Elizabeth died May 6, 1980 in Henderson, Vance Co., NC.

Ballard Morton Stainback and Elizabeth Lou (Betty) Dorsey had the following children:
