She married James Edward Stanley April 21, 1951 in Mecklenburg Co, VA. James was born January 28;,1932. James was the son of Roberta Ann (___). James died December 3, 2016 in Charlotte Co., VA. OBIT: James Edward Stanley "Ed" passed away at his home on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at his home in Charlotte Court House, Virginia. His wife, Mary, died in 2010 and they both cherished life to the fullest. Ed leaves behind one son, one daughter, numerous grand children and great grand children. He was loved by all who knew him. Ed was a long time school bus driver for Charlotte County Public Schools as well as Fire Chief for the Charlotte Court House Virginia Fire Department. Ed was awarded the Golden Axe and up until his death holds the record for the longest active Fire Chief in the State of Virginia. Ed was honored with the Charlotte Court House Hometown Hero award a few years ago as well. For those that knew Ed he will be missed. He was always there if you needed him. He always lent an ear if you needed someone to share your problems with. Ed loved his family and friends very much and always enjoyed company. He is truly a man that was loved by all that knew him.

Family will receive friends at the Browning Funeral Home on Monday, December 5 in Keysville, Virginia and funeral will be held Tuesday, December 6, at Mt. Harmony Methodist Church.
