Marilyn died May 5, 2014 in Little Rock, Pulaski Co., AR. OBIT: Marilyn Eileen Whitaker, 84, died peacefully Monday, May 5, 2014 at her home in Little Rock, AR. Born and raised in Canton, Marilyn was the daughter of Edward Frank Delong and Eunice Conrad. She is survived by her sister Barbara Danner, son Brian, daughter-in-law Ann, beloved Yorkshire terrier Sophie as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years Robert, her sister Arlene Spencer and brother Donald Delong. Marilyn spent most of her life in Canton. After graduating from Canton High School, she went to work as a telephone operator for Illinois Bell. After some time off to raise her family, she returned to work at Graham Hospital for many years before retiring with her husband to Florida. She was a member of the South Bend United Methodist Church in Little Rock, AR, active in the Red Hat Society and an accomplished baker. A private service will be held Saturday, May 17 at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery.
